Teaching Assistant: Yumin Lee, Kyungeon Byeon
- Class 12911
- Time / Location: Mon 09:00-13:00 / 508 IT.BT Building - Lecture & Lab
Course Outline
This course introduces the fundamental principles of computer graphics and the underlying mathematical concepts. Topics include object transformation and placement, representation of 3D shapes and appearance, object and character animation, and the structure of the rendering pipeline.
In lab sessions, students explore these concepts through hands-on practice based on Modern OpenGL. By implementing and modifying their own OpenGL programs, students examine how core graphics concepts are realized in an actual graphics system and how different design choices affect the results.
Modern OpenGL is used in lab sessions and assignments, instead of legacy OpenGL.
Lecture Guide & Objective
This course aims to develop students’ understanding of the core concepts and mathematical foundations of computer graphics, and to enable them to implement, analyze, and explain these concepts within an actual graphics system.
Lectures and lab sessions are designed to complement each other. Lab sessions are conducted as practice-oriented activities that allow students to explore and experiment with concepts introduced in lectures.
AI tools may be used as learning aids; however, students are responsible for understanding the work they submit and for being able to explain their implementations and decisions.
